(17 Members) The following guests were present: The Students of the months of Nov. & Dec. & their families as follows: Brittany Hernon East Moriches (November) and family Anne Hernon & John Hernon, Allison Waring East Moriches (December) and family Anne Waring & Jim Waring; James Albano, Center Moriches (December) and family Sandy Albano & John Albano; Caroline Rose Center Moriches (November) and family Nancy Rose & Phil Rose.
Bill Reported on the findings for Squaw appreciation night from Bob D. & Peter as follows: Michael Angelo's in Manorville date available but would need immediate response for Feb. 9th. cost $31.00 + tax & gratuities. $20.00 per person to have it at the camp plus would need a couple of people to clean up at $100.00 each. Tom advise us the Camp will pick up the cost of the squaws dinners out of I believe the funds the Squaws give us for the Spooky Walk etc. Ladikins was brought up as a possibility and a phone call was made to them and the price is $23.00 per person including gratuities and desert. It was decided to book Ladikins. It would be of course a cash bar.
Joe Maag reported on the Jackets for the Squaw gifts (Port Jefferson Sporting goods) and it would come to around $850. He has called Marcella a few times but she has been unavailable as she came home from vacation sick. So during the meeting he made a call to Joan Witkowski and she will get him the sizes needed.
Susan talked about the Swim that took place last Sunday at St. Joseph's she said both Ed Wesche and Werner came to the swim. Werner with his Grandchildren. The next swim January 21st.is sponsored by the Shirley Rotary Club.
Janice spoke about the Spaghetti dinner -- it has been approved by the principle and she is waiting for the approval of the Superintendent.
Karen Sobel from Islip Rotary suggested that 5 Clubs get together to put up 1/2 the money for bed bumpers & guard rails for the beds at the camp and get a Rotary Grant for the remainder of the money.
She has been in touch with Sayville, Westhampton, Riverhead, her club Islip, and she is asking us to also donate. She discuss it with Tom Chiefo as President of the camp board. Or as Tom suggested we could look into a simplified grant in which no one would put up Money & the district would give us a grant to cover the costs. If we chipped together it would be about $750 per club to come up with 1/2 the money $3,750 with a match of $3,750. from the District. More details to come.
