MORICHES ROTARY OF NY

This was an informal meeting to honor the Moriches Paquatuck Squaws. Present from our Club was the following members and their family. Newt & wife Marie, Kevin, Tom & wife Patty, President Elec. Muriel, Deborah & husband Brian, Joe Maag, Ralph, Jim & Susan, Barbara, Dr. Sighn, Julie, Roy and wife Deborah, Bob Dovale & wife Anne, Keith, Bill Le Maire, Denise and daughter College Student Melanie, Cheryl, President Steve, Secretary Joanne, Guests of our Club The Moriches Paquatuck Squaws and families, Jr. Squaws, Bill & Susan Dalton, head of our camp and also a member of Westhampton Rotary Club, and Peggy Albrecht transferring member.

The Moriches Paquatuck Squaws presented us with a check obtained by all their hard work like the Spooky Walk, Card Party, Straw Auction, Chinese Auction etc. We appreciate all their undertakings and try to help out at these events & if not then we attend them to give them our support like the card Party and Chinese Auction. The Chinese Auction this year will be back at the Polish Hall in Riverhead and I believe the date will be May 2nd.

We all enjoyed the evening very much and we presented each Squaw with a green apron with there names imprinted on them just as a token of our Thanks. Thank you Barbara for your efforts in obtaining these and also thanks to Patty Chiefo (Tom) for putting the gifts together.

This Thursday Muriel informed me Ed Wesche will be bringing the guest speaker.

On January 31st. Marion Stark will be our speaker. Marion belongs to Westhampton Rotary Club and is also a past District Governor.

News from Governor Elect George Soloman who is in California at the International Assembly. He said that incoming Rotary International President D.K. Lee made an amazing opening speech and announced the theme for next year: MAKING DREAMS REAL. George also wanted to pass along that the jacket color is navy blue.

District Governor, Dave is looking forward to the Rotary International Convention in Los Angeles in June 2008 and is planning a lunch to meet with all the members of Rotary District 7260 and it is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, June 17th after the conclusion of the plenaries session. Please let him know if you are attending the convention and leave him your cell phone # etc. Lunch is extra. Should be nice to get together.
