BRING A FRIEND TO ROTARY

The Rotary meeting was begun at 6:35 PM at Ladakins Restaurant.  Present were the following members: Deborah, Julie, Roy, Dr. Sighn, Barbara, Janice, Bob Walker, Betsy, Bob Dovale, Ralph, Peter, Joe, Werner, Susan, Jim, Newt, Helmut, Peggy, Denise, Ed, Tom, Cheryl, Secretary Joanne and President Steve, with the Pledge, song and a prayer by President Steve. Our guests for the evening were Eileen Long from Rocky Point Rotary & her husband Dan Long, Forrest Dunbar, Glenn Frost also from Rocky Point Rotary and Brooke and Page Wesche (Ed's daughters) and Susan Tew (Jim Murphy). Also our guest Speaker Barry Abrams.  We really had a nice full house.

Remarks were made that the Squaw appreciation night the week before had gone very well and the check we received was quite wonderful.

Next week will be Students of the Months for December & January and from Center Moriches they are Joseph Perricone for December and Page Wesche for January, Janice Graft their advisor told me.  We will also have the students from Eastport-South Manor.

We advised Helmut and Peggy Albrecht that they are now members of Moriches Rotary Club.  They Transferred from another Club and are living in Crystal Beach, Moriches.  Welcome Peggy and Helmut it is very nice to have you as members.  It brings our membership to 30 people.

Our Guest Speaker for the evening was brought to our club by Ed Wesche.  His name is Barry Abrams and he was a very dynamic speaker.  His livelihood is earned by being, of course a Motivational Speaker.  Thank you Ed.  President Steve presented Barry with our Club Flag and a guest pen.

Peggy won the 50/50.

Peter did a fine job doing our Sergeants report.

Janice Reported the Center Moriches Interact Club were in Contact with a Military Hospital and they are in need of wool blankets which they intend to supply.  They requested no red or orange blankets but any other colors are fine.  If you want to help the interact members please pass the blankets on to Janice.

Next week is Kota's Birthday (our exchange student) so if you would like to give her a Birthday gift please bring it to next weeks meeting.

We had the foundation and Barbara supplied the gift.  Which the Deborah shared with the entire club.

Remember Feb. 9th is Stuff-a-Bus from 9 to 3 PM our club and Eastport -South Manor Interact Club.  There will be a sign up sheet passed around next week.  So sign up for a couple of hours and it won't be a hardship on anyone.  We want to have a large banner put on the bus so people will know what is the purpose of the bus and who are the sponsors.

Hope everyone read the E-mail from Dave Ardam our District Governor.  Adopt a Camp Paquatuck Building for Energy Efficiency, our Tom President of our Camp would like to hear your input.

After the regular meeting we had a Club Board Meeting and much was discussed and some solutions were reached.

See you Thursday at Ladikins.
