MORICHES ROTARY OF NY

The Rotary meeting was begun at 6:35 PM at Ladakins Restaurant. Present were the following members: Deborah, Julie, Roy, Dr. Sighn, Barbara, Janice, Joe, Werner, Susan, Jim, Newt, Ed, Tom, Rich, Muriel, and President Steve, with the Pledge, song and a prayer by President Steve. Katie Spellman, Donald Caldwell, Paige & Brooke & Gerta Wesche, Tom & Joseph Perricone, Susan Tew, Dee, Paul Haines, Bob & Mary Knotoff, Chandr Sighn and Steve Fucco.

Students of the month were for the Months for December & January and from Center Moriches. They were Joseph Perricone for December and Page Wesche for January, Impressive young adults.

Steve said the Westhampton club wants to have a joint meeting with us. Westhampton meets on Tuesday's for lunch. The club showed by a show of hands that they want to participate. next step is to select a date.

Dee won the 50/50. Julie chose the card for Peggy, 6 of hearts. Dee chose a 7 of hearts. So, the game continues.

Tom did a fine job doing our Sergeants report.

It was Kota's Birthday (our exchange student) and we gave her a gift and piece of cake. She looked very happy and thanked us all.

Werner said he just turned 69! Congrats to him.

We had the foundation and Deborah supplied the gift. Dr. Sighn was the winner.

Remember Feb. 9th is Stuff-a-Bus from 9 to 3 PM our club and Eastport -South Manor Interact Club. There will be a sign up sheet passed around next week. So sign up for a couple of hours and it won't be a hardship on anyone. We want to have a large banner put on the bus so people will know what is the purpose of the bus and who are the sponsors.

Tom said he wanted to move forward with the Adopt a Camp Paquatuck Building for Energy Efficiency. Next steps are to prioritize the projects that require energy savings.

Ladakins will be closed the week of February 18th, so we will be meeting at Paul's Steakhouse in Speonk (Werner's Place) on Thursday the 21st..
