Muriel took auction items from the club. Anything you can auction will be appreciated. We are doing the auction at the Billy Joel event with a 50/50.

We are writing a check for a table sponsor at the Westhampton Spaghetti Dinner.

Laura spoke about the committees. We need people to either chair, co-chair, or be a part of the committee.

Bob created a scholarship committee headed up by Muriel and Barbara to set down in writing the criteria we use to determine who receives our annual scholarships. Muriel emailed the scholarship committee.

Tonight was Merchant of the Month. Tom could not make it. We nominated Merchants for the next 2 months.

Bill Sutton joined us for meeting number 3. Next week, her can sworn in as a new member.

Tom sent out the programs list for the second half of 2010. If your name is on here, you either give a program yourself or get a speaker. Steve spoke about the type of presentations you can give. It can be about something you want to share or someone else from Rotary who can give us information about Rotary. Program is 15 minutes long. If you really need a speaker, see Muriel.

District stuff a bus is 2 days, February 26th, 27th and 28th. Our stuff a bus is the 27th. 132 clubs will be joining in district wise. From Babylon to East Hampton. Ours is at King Kullen in Center Moriches. Tom Kerr wants to take this state wide. We expect the local papers and TV to pick up on this wonderful event.

Muriel spoke about PETS and SETS which is a weekend training the 19th, 20th and 21st in March. Speakers that are lined up are international speakers. SETS is 10am to 2pm on Sunday.

Steve would like us to take a box for $10 for the super bowl polio plus program that the district is participating in. Winning’s don’t go to us, but towards polio plus.

Muriel spoke about other people in Haiti that need help. The list of need goes on. She thinks we should do something for Dr. Patel and his efforts.

Sarah Donahue sent us a thank you for our contribution to her medical trip.

We booked the bands and the rides already for Oktoberfest. September 24th, 25th and 26th.

Old Business:

By-laws Committee has been disbanded. Not needed at this moment.

The advisor for the Eastport South Manor Interact club got a job in another school. So, we are in limbo with respect to Interact in that school. Update to come.

Squaw party is Feb 26th at Ladakins. $24 a head. There will NOT be a meeting on the 25th. The meeting on the 26th will be our weekly meeting. This is our thank you meeting for the squaws.
