New Business:
· Tom suggested taking an ad to let people know we are doing a food drive. Muriel will bring it to the board. We do have money in the budget for this. · Tom suggested giving the community an evening where we honor the service people who help us and make a difference. We would thank them and give out plaques. We will look at doing a date in December. · For the 10/16 meeting, Hans Luhmer for Adopt A Troop, it would be great if we cold bring supplies that the troops needs at this meeting. Supplies needed are ground coffee, hot chocolate, Tupperware, chocolate bars, peanuts, candy, cookies, gum, chapstick, holiday decorations, International calling cards, and baby wipes. · Muriel ordered the dictionaries. The date to give out the dictionaries is 9:45am on October 10th. They will have an assembly and a presentation. Please let Muriel know if you can attend.
· We did the sergeants report, Foundation, and the 50/50. Sergeants-$39. 50/50-$35. (Rich won) Foundation-$16. (Tom won-we voted that we do away with the gift.)
Old Business:
· Please bring in your towels. We can send them to the Islandia club. · Please bring your check made out to the Rotary Foundation for $100 for the Every Rotarian Every Year program. You can contribute also at http://www.rotary.org/en/Contribute/Pages/ridefault.aspx · If you have made up a meeting or attended another Rotary event, please let Deborah know so she can mark you as attending a meeting. · Board meeting was tonight.
Speaker & Topic: · Gwenn Range from the Westhampton club. She spoke about the District Governors background and his visit. · She reminded us that the Cruise for the District in Bermuda. Spaces are going quickly.
