Topics of Discussion:

 

  • Andy was inducted into the club. Welcome Andy.

  • Tom thanked Andy for the great work he did for Duck BBQ, Spooky Walk & Oktoberfest.

  • Bob passed around the stuff a bus sign up sheet on November 7th at the King Kullen shopping center. If you cannot make it, please do not put your name on the list. Please choose a time slot if you were not able to make the meeting and send to Bob.

  • Bob would like us participate in the Patchogue Rotary’s 75th Anniversary dinner which takes place on Wednesday, December 2nd at 6:30pm at Lombardi’s on the Bay in Patchogue. Cost is $75 per person.

  • The holiday party is on December 5th. Peter and Barbara are planning it. There will be a magician, hay rides, tree lighting ceremony, Santa Claus. Cost is $20 a person. Kids 12 and under are free. Everyone brings their own gift for their children, wrapped, with a value of no more than $15. Need a headcount 2 weeks prior. Payment and gifts due a week in advance. If you sign up and don’t show up, you still have to pay as we are ordering food for you. Please bring in your sold raffle tickets so Barbara can start shopping.

  • We will be meeting at the camp for November and December. We can change locations after the 1st of the year and we can discuss how it’s going at the December assembly meeting. IF YOU CAN’T MAKE A MEETING OR YOU ARE NOT EATING AND YOU DON’T REPLY TO DEBORAH AND TELL HER YOU CAN’T MAKE IT OR YOU WILL NOT BE EATING, YOU OWE THE CLUB $15 FOR DINNER. IF YOU ARE COMING AND EATING, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REPLY. We will have soda and water. If you want alcohol, please bring it.

  • Gift of Life cocktail party. Bellport country club. November 18th at 6:30pm. $75 a person, $45 for kids. A motion was made to pay for 2 kids from each Interact club this year only. We will be raffling off two Gift of Life tickets  for our members. Bring $5 next week with your name on it, so you can be entered into the raffle if you want to.

  • New members. Steve wants us to advertise ourselves in the local paper with our picture and accomplishments. We would also ask for new members in the ad.

  • Student of the month is next week, Thursday, November 5th. We will pay for 2 family members. Any additional guests that the students bring will have to be paid by the student.

  • Spooky walk attendance was down because of the weather. We discussed having a better system for parking and we will do this going forward.

  • Tom spoke about the Karen the new person who joined the camp. He is expecting great things from her.

  • Bob thanked us for the kind donation we sent to his family.

  • Susan would like us to fill out xmas cards for the troops overseas. Susan will let us know which troop they will go to next week. Susan would like all xmas cards in by the meeting before Thanksgiving.

  • Everyone will get a calendar by next week.

  • District Governor will be visiting the camp November 12th. Business attire that evening. Please be there. Board will meet with the District Governor at 5:15pm.

 

New Business

 

  • Sergeants-$65. 50/50-$40. (Bob won.) Foundation $16.

 

Old Business: 

 

  • Bob would like us to contribute $100 for the year for Rotary Foundation. It is not mandatory and it would be a nice showing from the club.

  • Laura and Christopher will be the committee for the Spaghetti Dinner. The event will be on Thursday, April 15th.

  • Tom has been writing an article that will be going into the south shore press every couple of weeks. If you have news that you want in, please send it to Tom.

  • If you have made up a meeting or attended another Rotary event, please let Deborah know so she can mark you as attending a meeting.

 

Upcoming Events/Meetings for 2009:

 

  • Stuff a bus, Saturday, November 7th in the Waldbaum's shopping center in Center Moriches.

  • Holiday Party at the camp, Saturday, December 5th

  • Squaws card parties are November 6th, December 4th  at the camp.  6:30pm to 10pm

Next Meeting:

 

  • Camp Pa Qua Tuck, Thursday, November 5th

  • If you can’t make a meeting or you are not eating and you don’t reply to Deborah and tell her you can’t make it, you owe the club $15 for dinner. If you are coming and eating, you do not have to reply.

  • We will have soda and water. If you want alcohol, please bring it.
