Moriches Rotary Quill

Guests:  Laura Sguazzin Donathan & Tracy O’Reilly Interact advisor from Eastport South Manor (Note: Tracy is a proposed new member and this is her 2^nd meeting.)

New Business:

• Barbara gave out tickets for the holiday raffle. They are $5 a piece. She gave out 20 tickets to each member that was in attendance. She also needs toys for the wagon raffle.
• Barbara also reminded everyone that the holiday parties are at the camp.
• Muriel will be asking the Mastic Club to join us at our meeting.
• Next year, we need to help more with parking at Spooky Walk. We only have one parking lot, so we need a better plan.
• Muriel handed out thank you’s from the students at the Clayton Heuy Elementary School. They loved the dictionaries.
• We did the sergeants report, Foundation, and the 50/50. Sergeants-$84. 50/50-$0. (Muriel won)  Foundation-$15.

Old Business: 

• Past club presidents (Steve, Julie & Kevin) will be the election committee for the incoming offices for next year. Report please to the club on November 13^th.
• Muriel, Julie & Deborah will be the nominating committee for the camp board.

·     If you have made up a meeting or attended another Rotary event, please let Deborah know so she can mark you as attending a meeting.

Speaker & Topic:

·         Aaron Stein spoke about Club Runner.

·         Club runner is attached to the district site, and one day, will be attached to Rotary International.

·         Go in, log-in, and update your personal information.

·         Please also spend time clicking on the links so you can familiarize yourself with the site.

Upcoming Events for 2008:

·         Stuff a Bus-November 1^st in the Waldbaum’s parking lot in Center Moriches from 10am to 3pm.

·         Rotary International Day at the United Nations November 8th. (You can get the form to sign up at http://www.rotary.org/en/AboutUs/SiteTools/Search/Pages/ridefault.aspx?k=international%20day )

·         Stuff a Bus-December 6^th.

·         Holiday party for the Kids-Sunday, December 14^th 1pm to 4pm.

·         Holiday party for our members-Thursday, December 18^th.

·         JC’s Restaurant, Thursday, November 6^th.

·         Please note that we only have 3 meetings in November (no meeting on the 27^th for Thanksgiving), so please try to attend all three.
