Topics of Discussion:

  • We spoke about a all district stuff a bus, we get everyone together, we get great publicity, and we would be honored for beginning the program. We are looking at 2-14-10. Final date to be determined. Muriel and Henry from CI will chair. We are going to do this in Keith Romaine’s honor.

  • Gift of Life cocktail party went well. We spoke about having a fundraiser to help raise funds for this program.

  • Our holiday party is on December 5th. There will be a magician, hay rides, tree lighting ceremony, Santa Claus. Cost is $20 a person. Kids 12 and under are free. Everyone brings their own gift for their children, wrapped, with a value of no more than $15. Need a headcount and payment ASAP if you have not done so. Gifts are due on 12/3. If you say you are coming and you don’t show up, you still have to pay as we are ordering food for you. Please bring in your sold raffle tickets so Barbara can start shopping for our adopted family.

  • Venue for Tom Kerr homecoming has been moved to Polish Hall at $40pp. Bob wanted us to commit to a table. Please let Bob know ASAP if you want to join us at the table.

  • Susan would like us to fill out xmas cards for the troops overseas. Susan will let us know which troop they will go to next week. Susan would like all xmas cards in by the meeting before Thanksgiving. PLEASE GIVE YOUR CARDS TO JEAN AT THE CAMP.

  • Tom & Steve are the nominating committee for our board next year. If you are interested in a board position, please let them know. Voting for the board is the 2nd week of December.

  • Tonight was our assembly meeting. We discussed:

1) Meeting at the camp. Ralph & Bob are the committee to find a new place that we will commit to from Jan to June ’10.

2) We would like our second Interact club/students to be more involved in our club. Steve will talk to the district secretary about what we can do about this situation.

3) Please spend more time with out exchange student. Bob requested we do more with him.

4) If you have Newsday delivered, please look at coupons/circular. There is a $10 off coupon at King Kullen. Muriel needs 4 coupons.

5) The squaws want their party to be at the camp. Jane will let Muriel know when‘s a good date for them. Jane also wants to get to know us better. The squaws see us at a lot of events but they don’t know who we are. We don’t know them well either. The squaws also do not want a gift. They would like to see the money go to a scholarship for a child coming to the camp and the scholarship would be in the sqauws name. We made a motion that the party be a joint party in the summer. The motion was accepted.

6) Muriel will be attending a planning meeting for an event camp. The idea/event was started by the Southold Rotary.

7) We want a treasurer’s report each quarter and a breakdown of expenses/money made for each event. We also want a list of events, committee chairs, and list of duties. Laura and Deborah will work on this.

8) Muriel needs help unloading groceries at the Methodist church on Monday at 10am. Please come and help if you can.

9) We want people who sign up for events to show up. If you say you are coming, we need you to be there and we expect you to show up.  Plus, we really need you to be there.

10) We need a night of 100% attendance so we can take our group photo for our new member advertisement. Date is Thursday, Jan 7th, Business attire. Not at the meeting, will not be in the photo.
