BRING A FRIEND TO ROTARY
The Meeting was begun at 6:35 by
President Steve with the pledge, song and prayer. The following
members were present: Dr. Sighn, Barbara, Werner, Janice, Jim, Bob
Walker, Garry, Ed, Muriel, Julie, Deborah, Joe, Tom, Bill,
Roy,Newt, Ralph, Cheryl, President Steve, Secretary Joanne,
Treasurer Rich. The following guest were present: Our students of
the Month for November were Sophie Marin-Tsoupas CMHS and Brandon
Barsky ESM., Katherine Thullen ESM Interact Advisor, Natasha
Martin, Anna Martin, Nick Tsoupas, Rex & Gloria Nartin, Steven
Barsky, Diane Barsky proud Family members of the students, Susan
Tew (Jim Murphy) , Miles Kronmen (President Steve's son) Brooke &
Page Wesche (Ed's daughters), Visiting Rotarians Peggy Albrecht
and Helmut Albrecht Pittsford, NY.
We had a total of 37 people at the
meeting it sure kept the waitresses busy.
Tom ordered the road signs for our
Rotary Club. Tom said we will have to build our own Posts for
same. Thanks Tom.
Our Camp received a donation from the
estate of William Darns. Very nice bequeath.
We received a letter from the
Brookhaven Town Office of Women's Services they are once again
seeking nominations for outstanding women of Brookhaven who
perform a wide variety of tasks on a professional and volunteer
basis. They have been doing this recognition since 1986. They are
contacting community groups, businesses and individuals once again
in hopes that we can nominate such a candidate who lives or works
in Brookhaven. The form must be filled out and be returned to the
Women's Services no later than Friday, Jan. 18, 2008 A resume or
equivalent and two letters of recommendation must be included. If
you know of such a person contact Theresa Leuffen Director at
(631) 451-6146 and FAX (631)451-9125.
The Holiday Party will take place
December 13th at Camp Paquatuck. The price for dinner is $25.00
for Adults. If you are bringing a child with you their gift
should be brought to the Rotary Meeting the week before wrapped
and a tag with the childs name on it.
Barbara has the wheelbarrow of toys
all filled and wrapped but what she does need is the sold and
unsold tickets returned at our meeting ASAP. The bank has done a
wonderful job selling the chances. Hope our Club members did too.
December 8th is the Parade of Lights,
If you can assist Janice in anyway with the Interact float speak
to her about this. Werner is providing the tree that is needed.
He will also lend them a battery or Generator. Thank you Werner.
If anyone can attend the District
Governor David Ardam's Homecoming dinner when he makes his last
"Official Visit" to his own club Commack-Kings Park on Dec. 11th,
2007 at the Bon Wit Inn 1 Vanderbilt Parkway (corner
Vanderbilt-Motor Parkway & Commack Rd. - $35.00 per person for
dinner with a cash bar, at 6:30 PM. Please RSVP by Dec. 7th to
Club President Jules Rosenberg 265-8515. It would be nice to have
a representative from our Club attend.
For, the 50/50, 7 of Clubs was drawn.
The game goes on.
Tom did the Sergeants report.
The Foundation Raffle was won by
Tom. Tom, please remember the gift next week.
President Steve presented our Students
of the month with their plaques. Janice did the introductions.
Sophie Martin-Tsoupas from Center Moriches High School and Brandon
Barsky from Eastport South Manor who already knows he wants to be
a Doctor. The new Interact Advisor from Eastport South Manor is
Catherine Thullen she teaches American History (our Bob Dovale
will be helping her)
Our Rotary guests for the evening,
Peggy and Helmut Albrecht are moving into Crystal Beach in
Moriches and are very interested in transferring to our Rotary
Club. We are looking into what paper work is needed to achieve
the transfer.
