Topics of Discussion:

• Bob honored our students of the Month; Megan and Kayla.

• Bob passed around the stuff a bus sign up sheet on November 7^th. If you cannot make it, please do not put your name on the list. Please choose a time slot if you were not able to make the meeting and send to Bob. Next stuff a bus is Saturday, December 12^th. 2010 dates for the first ½ of the year are Jan 9^th, Feb 13^th, March 6^th, April 10^th, and May 8^th.

• The holiday party is on December 5th. Peter and Barbara are planning it. There will be a magician, hay rides, tree lighting ceremony, Santa Claus. Cost is $20 a person. Kids 12 and under are free. Everyone brings their own gift for their children, wrapped, with a value of no more than $15. Need a headcount by 11/19. Payment and gifts are due on 12/3. If you say you are coming and you don’t show up, you still have to pay as we are ordering food for you. Please bring in your sold raffle tickets so Barbara can start shopping.

• It’s time to order food for the Thanksgiving baskets. The simplified grant to offset the costs of the baskets has been approved by the district. Good job Muriel! If anyone gets a coupon for a free turkey, we can use it to supplement the cost too.

• We need to select a date for the sqaws party. More details to come on that.

• It’s time to write a check for the Foundation dollars we’ve collected for the year to rotary international.

• New members. We want to advertise ourselves in the local paper with our picture and accomplishments. We would also ask for new members in the ad.

• Susan would like us to fill out xmas cards for the troops overseas. Susan will let us know which troop they will go to next week. Susan would like all xmas cards in by the meeting before Thanksgiving. PLEASE BRING 10 CARDS WITH YOU NEXT WEEK.

• Patchogue Rotary’s 75^th Anniversary dinner which takes place on Wednesday, December 2^nd at 6:30pm at Lombardi’s on the Bay in Patchogue. Cost is $75 per person. We will be buying 4 tickets.

• Gift of Life cocktail party. Bellport country club. November 18^th at 6:30pm. $75 a person, $45 for kids.  Raffled tickets went to Muriel and Steve.

• Billy Joel event is at Rock Hill on March 13^th. Bob is still open to ideas to make the event great.

• Tom & Steve are the nominating committee for our board next year. If you are interested in a board position, please let them know.

• District Governor Tom Kerr’s Homecoming is on Tuesday, December 1^st at Trumpets at the Gate. Time is 6:30pm to 10:30pm. $80 per person with a cash bar.

• Tom, our District Governor, will be visiting the camp November 12^th. BUSINESS ATTIRE that evening. Please be there. Board will meet with the District Governor at 5:15pm.

New Business

• Sergeants-$117. 50/50-$30 (Werner won.) Foundation $20.

Old Business: 

• We will be meeting at the camp for November and December. We can change locations after the 1^st of the year and we can discuss how it’s going at the December assembly meeting. IF YOU CAN’T MAKE A MEETING OR YOU ARE NOT EATING AND YOU DON’T REPLY TO DEBORAH AND TELL HER YOU CAN’T MAKE IT OR YOU WILL NOT BE EATING, YOU OWE THE CLUB $15 FOR DINNER. IF YOU ARE COMING AND EATING, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REPLY. We will have soda and water. If you want alcohol, please bring it.

• Bob would like us to contribute $100 for the year for Rotary Foundation. It is not mandatory and it would be a nice showing from the club.

• Tom has been writing an article that will be going into the south shore press every couple of weeks. If you have news that you want in, please send it to Tom.

• If you have made up a meeting or attended another Rotary event, please let Deborah know so she can mark you as attending a meeting.

Upcoming Events/Meetings for 2009:

• Stuff a bus, Saturday, November 7^th at Waldbaum’s in Center Moriches.

• Holiday Party at the camp, Saturday, December 5th

• Squaws card parties are November 6th, December 4th  at the camp.  6:30pm to 10pm

Next Meeting:

• Camp Pa Qua Tuck, Thursday, November 12^th.

• District Governor will be visiting the camp. Please be there.

• BUSINESS ATTIRE.

• Board will meet with the District Governor at 5:15pm.

• If you can’t make a meeting or you are not eating and you don’t reply to Deborah and tell her you can’t make it, you owe the club $15 for dinner. If you are coming and eating, you do not have to reply.
