BRING A FRIEND TO ROTARY
The meeting was begun at 6:30: PM at
Ladikins' Rest. By President Steve with the pledge, Song and
prayer. The following members were present: Tom, Werner,
Roy, Denise, Janice, Dr. Sighn, Bob Walker, Deborah, Julie, Newt,
Bill, Peter, Cheryl. President Steve, Secretary Joanne, &
Treasurer Rich. Also, the following guests were present Tom &
Linda Kerr from the Westhampton Rotary Club, and Tom is also a
future District Governor, and their guest Gabriel Akok one of the
Lost Boys of the Sudan and Bill Graf husband of Janice Graf.
Our Guest Speaker for the evening was
our own Dr. Sighn. He gave us a talk and a demonstration on his
practice of Yoga and all its benefits. It was very interesting
and would be very beneficial to all. He promised to get us a hand
out sheet with the exercises written out so we too could do them.
Don't forget Dr. Sighn. Thank you for your presentation.
President Steve asked Bob Walker when
we could make the presentation of the Dictionaries at Tangier -
Smith school. He told us Mid-January.
The 50/50 was won by Janice.
We had the Sergeants Report..
We had no foundation Gift so we were
not able to have the raffle.
The Holiday party will take place on
Dec. 13th at the camp with Vinnie from Ladikins catering it. All
members bringing children, or Grandchildren or friends children
please being their gifts the week before wrapped and labeled.
Keep gift prices to a reasonable minim. Barbara is collecting
toys for the Holiday Raffle so please bring them soon so she has
time to assemble the wheelbarrow of Toys. Also please bring
raffle ticket money as soon as possible to Barbara. The chances
are $5.00 each.
Westhampton Rotary is now meeting at
the Patio for the winter. Tuesday Lunch at 12:15PM.
Squaw appreciation night is January
11th at Ladkiins. It is also Spouse night. So bring your
important person with you.
Stuff a bus was Saturday at King
Kullen, Center Moriches.
Thank you Deborah for writing the
Quill last week while I was in Italy. I am still recovering from
the trip, we walked miles all up hill on cobble stones, we also
shopped till we dropped. It was just beautiful.
Garry's Daughter Eve made Garry a Grandfather again. Everything went well and the baby is a Girl Named MacKenzie weighting in at 7 Lbs. 9 oz. Congrads to all. We are happy all went well and Mackenzie has an older brother Dawson 4 1/2. I sent our best to Eve and Joe.
Stony Brook University has 21 foreign
exchange students who are looking for an American Family home to
share Thanksgiving dinner with. If you have room at your table
for an extra person or two consider inviting a couple of these
students to your home for dinner. The person to contact is Rhona

A Note from the desk of District
Governor, Dave Ardam -- I you are interested in becoming a future
District Governor then you need to summit your name to the
nominating committee, for the year 2010 to 2011. Now is the time
to apply. Qualifications include being a past president of Rotary
Club for a full term and currently being a member of a club in
this district in good standing, and having a willingness to
perform the duties of the Govorner. Further details are set forth
in chapter 2 of the Manual of Procedure. The person selected also
must be a member for at least seven years as of the date of
assuming office (in this case July 1, 2010) The committee meeting
will take place on December 8, 2007, probably at Camp Paquatuck
all candidates interested will have to appear for interview at
that time. In the meantime it is necessary that all candidates
fill out an application form, so please contact Dave as soon as
possible.
