BRING A FRIEND TO ROTARY
The Meeting started at 6:35 PM with the Pledge, song and Prayer. The following members were present: Denise, Newt, Julie, Deborah, President Elect Muriel, Barbara, Tom, Ralph, Peter, Robert Dovale, Susan, Werner, Garry, Janice, Joe, Roy, Cheryl, Jim, President Steve, Treasurer Rich and Secretary Joanne. There were also present three guests our exchange student Maria Callejas Corte and Peggy Albrecht (transferring Rotarian) and Fred Towle Jr. Merchant of the Month.
This Thursday our Holiday Party will take place at approx. 6:15 PM at Camp Paquatuck. Catered by Ladikins. Cost $25.00 for adults and $15.00 for children. Remember if you bring your children or Grandchildren, etc., that if you didn't bring a gift to last weeks meeting that you bring a wrapped gift with a gift tag so Santa can give them out. Its bring your own bottle so we can set up a bar. We will have soda.
The 50/50 was won by Tom and Muriel. Tom drew the 2 of Spades. We also had the foundation and sergeants report.
St. John the Evangelist, R. C. Church in Center Moriches put an ad in their bulletin thanking us for our donation to their food Pantry. This donation came from the Stuff a Bus. They also thanked Adelworth Bus Co.
The Rotary Board for 2008-2009 is President Muriel Corcoran Treasurer Rich Santonocito Secretary Deborah Brown-Volkman President Elect Bob Dovale
There were no nominations from the floor so Secretary Joanne cast one vote for the board.
Newt introduced our Merchant of the month Fred Towle Manager & Operator of the South Shore Press Newspaper. For his generosity with publicity for our Rotary events. President Steve presented him with a plaque . If anyone could attend District Governor Dave's party on December 11th they were to make a phone call to confirm.
Garry announced that he is going to become a Grandfather again,( son Garry and his wife, this will be there second child). Congratulations Garry, your family is really growing. Enjoy.
President Steve announced we will add another sign onto the new signs we ordered to include our web site. District Governor Dave suggested we do this.
Barbara mentioned that she still could use another senior family to give Holiday basket too. So if anyone knows of anyone who really could use help in our area please contact Barbara.
Susan brought with her a bottle of wine from a small winery in Riverhead and we auctioned it off and Jim Murphy won and will bring it to our Holiday Party.
