BRING A FRIEND TO ROTARY

The meeting began before I got there with the pledge, prayer & song. There were 16 members present: Garry, President Bob, Treasurer Ed, Secretary Joanne, President Elect Steve, Barbara, Newt, Julie, Deborah, Joe, Lou, Rich, Roy, Werner, Kevin (for a brief time), & Tom.

Lou won the 50/50 game and picked the 9 of Spades.

The Holiday party which will take place at the Camp at 6:00 PM on December 21st. Twerly the clown will be there, our President confirmed.  The dinner will be $30.00 per Adult and Steve has just sent me an E-mail confirming that each chills dinner will be $10.00 plus an additional $10.00 per gift.

The President then closed our Club Meeting for a short time, and The club board meeting was opened.  The Camp new board members had been selected: Newt, Kevin & Barbara. We were asked if there was any nominees from the floor.  There were non, so it stands Newt, Kevin & Barbara have been reelected to the Camp Board.  The new Camp Program Director is Jean Gilrane-Moore.

The District Governor has said they will be using Camp Paquatuck for events like Rilla, Interact and Exchange Programs. The Past District Governor's Ball will be held at the Camp, probably in February.  There will be a tent for eating, dancing will be in the dinning room.

Tuition for the campers will be $585.00 per child.  It actually cost approx. $1800.00.  the rest is paid by donations etc.

Nominations for the new club board for 2007-08 is as follows: Steve Kronman, President, Muriel Corcoran, President Elect, Joanne Walker, Secretary, Rich Santonocito, Treasurer. Joe Maag closed the nominations.

Our club meeting was reopened. Some members of our Club were going to see Chicargo in New York on Dec. 9th with their wives and our exchange student Melina.  Think of Melina with a Holiday gift would be nice thing.

The Ricco Foundation is giving us $500.00 to use toward the families we are adopting for Xmas.  Barbara spoke about these families, most were single Mothers with kids and what the children asked for was PJ's for Xmas they will get those plus toys. A Senior citizen was also chosen and her choice for a gift was a gift certificate to a super market.  So these truly are people in need, it makes us count our blessings and want to give more.  Steven has given to the food pantry cases of toilet paper which is very much a necessity.  Thank you Steve and Center Moriches Paper Co.

The Foundation raffle was won by Julie.  She received a book" 101 ways to improve your life" in which Deborah had written a chapter.  Congratulations Deborah.  We are very proud of you.  Julie will bring the gift this week.

We were sorry to hear Bob Dovales' father broke his hip.  Hope he will heal quickly.

I received a note from the District Governor as follow: My Friends -due to the District Governor's increasingly frequent senior moments, in announcing Tom Kerr as the selected candidate by the nominating committee I neglected to apprise all of you of your rights.  Any Club has a right to challenge the result up to a designated deadline.  Therefore any challenges will be accepted up to and including December 22nd. Thank you, Bob DG
