BRING A FRIEND TO ROTARY

The meeting was called to order by President Bob at 6:30 PM with a salute to the flag, a song and prayer.  Present at the meeting was 16 members as follows: Lou, Julie, Muriel, Steve, Roy, Peter, Bob D., Bill, Newt, Deborah, Dale, Ed, Tom, Cheryl, Secretary Joanne, & President Bob.

Muriel has been going back & forth to Florida and making up some meetings while down there and she was telling us about one club she attended that is quite new only about 4 years old and they have a Camp also called Camp Florida.  They are doing wonderful things and have about 80 members.  They get big business to sponsor them etc.  Very interesting Muriel.  Thank you for the makeup card from the Brandon, Florida Club.

Muriel received a thank you note from the Methodist Church for our Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets along with a check to help us with some of the expenses. Thank you for all your efforts Muriel.

Dale told us about the distribution of the Dictionary's on February 8th at the East Moriches school to the 1st through 4th grades at an assembly.  It was very well received by both the school and the students and the Superintendent Charles Russo.  Dale thank you so much for arranging everything and ordering the books and for being present at the assembly alone with others in our club including Peter, Bob D., Barbara, Newt.  Please forgive me if I left any ones name out.  President Bob wishes to have Dale order more Dictionaries for his school building and that date will be announced in the future.

The 50/50 was won by Lou & Steve and they drew the King of Hearts.

April 19th is the Spaghetti dinner and just happens to be Joe Maag's birthday.  It will take place at Center Moriches, High School and the interact Club will be there to help serve etc.

March 24th , Saturday night will be our Bowling at Shirley Bowl and we have 40 lanes to fill.  Bob will bring the tickets that Garry had printed up to our next regular meeting. So lets try to get friends to come and pick up your tickets at that meeting.  We need new bottles of wine and liquor so Joanne can fill some baskets to use as raffle prizes.  We also need some paper back new books to fill another basket and Barbara is doing a toy basket so any new toys you can bring in would help her out too. Please bring these items as soon as possible so they have more time to arrange them in baskets.

A correction to last weeks Quill - I gave Joe Maag credit for wrapping the gifts for the Squaws when it was actually Patty Chieffo who bought the tissue and put the gifts in the gift bags that Barbara supplied.  Thank you girls the gifts looked pretty.

The Foundation raffle was won by Steve Kronman.  He received a bottle of wine donated by Peter.  Steve gave me his prize to use in the baskets I am assembling for the Spaghetti dinner.  Now Steve you have to bring a prize for our next regular meeting.  Thank you Steve for your donation.

March 8th will be the next Student of the month meeting.  It will included the February & March Students.

Tom mentioned that we need to discuss whether we should have our meeting every week at one location or split up our meeting nights to two different locations.  The meeting locations that were mentioned was Ladikins, Tavern on Main and Michael Angelos in Manorville.  To be continued.

There will be no meeting this Thursday but will be instead at Camp Paquatuck on Saturday night, February 24th, 2007 from 6 to 10 PM. Cost $75.00 per person.  It is the first annual Winter Ball Cocktail Reception honoring Past District Governors. black tie is optional. Music by Grant Werner, Food by Todd Jacobs from Atlantica.  A portion of the ticket will go to the Camp.  If you have not sent your check to the Camp bring one with you Saturday night.

Well That's all there is...............................see you at the Ball Saturday night ..................Joanne
