Topics of Discussion:
-
Janice spoke
about the relay for life. She has set up a page where you can
make donations for this important event. We should have a team
for the club. If you are interested, we’ll discuss again next
week. One member on our team has to stay on the track during the
event and we have to raise funds.
-
Susan left
applications on the table for the Jigsaw 4 miles walk. It’s the
3rd annual walk for the EJ Autism Foundation. They
sponsored our swim a few years back. The walk is Sunday, April
19th at the East Islip Marina. 9:30am rain or shine.
-
We are working
on the letters to invite people to our membership events. Muriel
handed out 10 envelopes to each person and asked that we address
them with 10 people we can send an invite to. Even, if you have
to go to the phone book to get names and addresses. Date is
Sunday, May 3rd from 1pm to 4pm at the camp. We also
will be inviting past members to attend. Please let Muriel know
who you would like added to the list.
New Business:
-
We are meeting
here at JC’s on March 12th. They want us to stay for
the meeting and will be able to give us a different room at the
Restaurant.
-
We need a polio
chair/volunteer for our club. Julie has volunteered.
-
Tom has been
writing an article that will be going into the south shore press
every couple of weeks. If you have news that you want in, please
send it to Tom.
-
Tom spoke about
programs and he will be taking it over and scheduling programs
for future meetings. He would like each member to bring someone
in to speak at our club and will be handing out a schedule next
week. Janice will be bringing in Dr. Donald James,
Superintendent of the Center Moriches School District on April
30th.
-
The chamber of
commerce will be having their St. Patty’s Day celebration dinner
at Rock Hill from 7pm to 11pm on Friday, March 6th.
