BRING A FRIEND TO ROTARY
The meeting started at 6:40 PM by President Steve with the
pledge, song and prayer. Present at the meeting was the
following members: Barbara, Julie, Muriel, Newt, Deborah,
Jim, Peter, Bob Dovale, Bill, Bob Walker, Ed, Roy, Werner,
Susan, Ralph, Dr. Singh & President Steve and Secretary
Joanne. Our Guests for the evening was Our exchange
student Cote and Susan Tew (Jim Murphy).
The delivery of the Dictionaries has to be rescheduled as
the Principals were not going to be in the building on the
29th of February. Bob Walker reported.
We also have to reschedule the Merchant of the Month of
February, Tom Jurgielewicz. His wife was not able to make
our meeting so it needs to be rescheduled.
Our outbound student Corey Kronman is on a 35 day trip
across the northern part of Brazil. He is having a
wonderful time his proud Dad reported.
Steve also received an E-mail from his exchange student
from the year 2000. His name is Phillip and he was from
Germany. He was going for a job interview. Its
wonderful how they always stay in touch and make our lives
seem even richer.
The 50/50 was won by Peter & Bob they drew the Ace of
spades. Nice going guys Cote drew the card for them.
Muriel went over the by-laws, so next week we will vote on
them so we can get them passed and in-place.
So please members all try to be here for this important
meeting next week.
We had the Sergeants Report.
The Foundation raffle was won by Jim Murphy. Jim report
next week how you made out with all the scratch offs you
won. I hope it was profitable. Don't forget Jim you are
responsible for the gift next week. You know you win but
you don't win the Foundation surely does.
We received a thank you note from Outreach at St. Peter &
Paul's Catholic Church in Manorville. Our Stuff a Bus at
King Kullen really filled their pantry. They were very
grateful to receive all the food. They were in great
need.
Try to attend next Friday, March 7th, 2008 at the Holiday
Inn in Plainview, 215 Sunnyside Blvd., just off the L.I.E.
exit 46 or Northern State to Exit 38. The time is 3:00 to
6:00 PM. The price is $20.00 - per person it includes a
deli buffet. It is a Seminar to kick-off our District's
response to the Gates Foundation Polio Plus Challenge.
Rotarians are committed to raise $100 Million over the
next 3 years to match the Gates Grant. At this event, you
will learn WHY we are doing this. Ann Lee Hussey will be
the keynote speaker. They also hope to have
Shirley/Mastics Rotarian Susan Wischhusen, who will be
going on an NID to India this month and PDG Eileen
Gentilcore from District 7250, Rotary International's
worldwide director for health and humanitarian services.
Muriel said she was going to attend. For info contact

Received a note from Assistant District Governor Gwenn
Ramage that their is still room at the District Conference
for 10 to 15 more people to attend. So if you have not
signed up please do so as soon as possible. Their is an
application in the District Newsletter.
Our Club members are all wishing Garry Nagle a speedy
recovery. Our thoughts are with him.
Cote also thanked the club for the Christmas & Birthday
gifts she received. She read a note she sent to all of
us.
March 13th will be Students of the month for February and
also Keith Romaine will be the Guest Speaker.
March 27th will be Merchant of the month Dr. Steven
Curtis.
The Spaghetti Dinner will be April 15th at Center Moriches
School.
The Bowl-a-Rama will be the last Saturday in May the 31st.
The Duck Barbecue will take place Sept. 7th, 2008.
