Guests: None this evening.
Topics of Discussion:
-
We need new
members. It is important to the success of our club. Great place
to have a membership night would be at the camp, with a guest
speaker who can talk about the camp. The goal is for everyone to
bring one person to the event.
-
Julie spoke
about membership ideas. She suggested having a wine and cheese
event for prospective members so they can get to know us and
find our more about membership and our club. Date we have chosen
is Sunday, April 26th from 1pm to 4pm at the camp.
Each member will bring someone to our open house. We also would
like to put an ad in the local paper. We would like to invite
past members, business people, people in the community, fireman,
ambulance companies, police officers, post masters, politicians,
teachers and administrators. The list will probably be expanded.
New Business:
-
Our auction
will be at the camp on Saturday, June 6th. The date
has been changed from May 30th.
-
The Squaws card
parties are on April 3rd, June 5th,
November 6th, December 4th at the camp. 6:3pm to
10pm. Great fundraiser for the camp.
·
We
are considering doing Bowl-a-rama again. For the work we have to
put in, the money we would raise would not be worth the effort. We
decided as a club not to do bowl-a-rama this year. This does not
mean that we will not do this again in future years,
·
Muriel has copies of the budget is anyone needs one.
·
We
are going to do a full page ad in the Center Moriches Chamber
journal ad for their St. Patty’s day parade.
·
Tom
suggested putting a note in the St. John’s church bulletin that we
are running stuff-a-bus for their food pantry,
-
There is a camp
board meeting on February 9th at the camp. All
Rotarians from our club are welcome to attend. Tom reported that
camper registration is going very well and that we should have a
great, full summer this year.
-
We
did the sergeants report, Foundation,
and the 50/50. Sergeants-$76 50/50-$10 (Muriel won) Foundation
$15
