Topics of Discussion:

April 22nd is the squaw’s dinner at Ladakin’s. This is the rescheduled date.

Eastport South Manor needs to know about the scholarships by the middle of May.

We need to sell more tickets for the March 13th auction. The band is paid for. Bob needs help at the door and during the auction. NOTE: DOORS OPEN AT 6PM AND SHOW STARTS AT 6:30PM. THE TIME ON THE TICKETS IS WRONG. Event is from 6pm to 10pm.

Muriel needs to know what you are going to donate ASAP so she can make the catalog for the event. We’ve had some nice donations so far. Bob needs to know who is coming to the event. The night will be a success because of you.

Joanne needs liquor for the baskets for the Spaghetti dinner.

Stuff a bus was a success. Thanks to everyone who came out to support this event.

We are working on a joint meeting with the Shirley club. More details to follow as we hear back from them.

Laura gave out 20 tickets for Spaghetti dinner. Please don’t give her tickets back at the day of the events. Please sell as many as you can. Children pay at the door. Adults are $10. Early bird is $8 from 4pm to 5pm. Event is from 4pm to 8pm. We are doing placemats again this year. If you need your tickets, please see Laura.

Tom Talbert from the Rocky Point club is being honored for humanitarian award. March 25th at Majestic Gardens in Rocky Point. Tickets are $65.

Bob thanked Muriel for all the great work she does for our club and the district. Bob also welcomed back Susan and Dr. Singh.

Susan introduced her guest who is sending goods to Haiti. Please bring blankets, shoes, and clothes to next week’s meeting. If you can’t make next week’s meeting, please drop your items at Jim’s meeting.

Andrew Lieb was our speaker. He is running a free tax grievance tax seminar on April 29th at 7pm at the Center Moriches Library with the Center Moriches Chamber of Commerce. Andrew is also putting together free classes/school for real estate agents. Denise and Andrew are putting together a seminar about a supplemental special needs trust.

Tom, Jim, Steve & Andy are the committee for our 75th anniversary meeting.

Old Business:

Tom sent out the programs list for the second half of 2010. If your name is on here, you either give a program yourself or get a speaker. Steve spoke about the type of presentations you can give. It can be about something you want to share or someone else from Rotary who can give us information about Rotary. Program is 15 minutes long. If you really need a speaker, see Tom.

Sergeants-$184. Foundation-$20. 50/50-$43. (Muriel won.)

Ongoing Business:

·        Bob would like us to contribute $100 for the year for Rotary Foundation. It is not mandatory and it would be a nice showing from the club.

·        Tom has been writing an article that will be going into the south shore press every couple of weeks. If you have news that you want in, please send it to Tom.

·        If you have made up a meeting or attended another Rotary event, please let Deborah know so she can mark you as attending a meeting.
