  • WHETHER YOU COME TO SQUAWS APPRECIATION DINNER OR NOT, EVERY MEMBER IS REQUIRED TO PAY $30 TO OFFSET THE COST OF THE EVENT. Bring your money to you the night of the event and make your checks out to Moriches Rotary NOT Ladakin’s. If you did not attend this Thursday’s meeting, please email Deborah at info@surpassyourdreams.com by Monday the latest how many people you are bringing.

New Business:

  • We would like to thank Laura for the flag. Thank you very much Laura.
  • The District Assembly on April 18th will be at the camp beginning at 10am. It is a work day and families are invited. We need Rotarians to be there to help cook lunch.
  • Beginning in the July, the monthly district newsletter will be delivered in bulk to the clubs. You will be able to pick up an issue when you attend a meeting. An email copy will also be sent to you.
  • There will be an additional meeting on April 17th (not our meeting---a separate meeting) at the Irish Pub for those who are going to the District Meeting. If you are going to the district meeting, you have go to that meeting to pick up your stuff.
  • Sergeants-$ 42/50-$0  Foundation $19

Old Business:

  • Tom has been writing an article that will be going into the south shore press every couple of weeks. If you have news that you want in, please send it to Tom.
  • We are still working on the letters to invite people to our membership events. Muriel inquired about the 10 envelopes to each person and asked that we address them with 10 people we can send an invite to. Even, if you have to go to the phone book to get names and addresses. Date is Sunday, May 3rd from 1pm to 4pm at the camp. We also will be inviting past members to attend. Please let Muriel know who you would like added to the list.
  • The spaghetti dinner is being held at the Center Moriches High School on Thursday, April 16th. Bob handed out 20 tickets to each member. Please sell your tickets. (Kevin donated the tickets, so thank you to Kevin.) Bob has flyers for your windows, so please see him if your need a few. So far, he has 6 table sponsors. Bob has paid for some ads. If you have raffle items, see Barbara and Joanne. Joanne needs liquor for the baskets. PETER NEEDS A CHECK ASAP FOR THE PLACEMAT ADS.
  • We have a student from East Moriches that wants to be an outbound exchange student. We cannot sponsor this student unless we have a home for an inbound student. We need to have an answer and a home for the student within the next 2 weeks.
  • Muriel will be ordering signs for the camp that showcase the rotary and our web site.
  • Aaron Stein needs a host club for one week, April 5th to 11th. We need six homes to host the group study exchange students.
  • Janice will be bringing in Dr. Donald James, Superintendent of the Center Moriches School District on April 30th to speak to our club
  • On Monday, May 11, 2009 the FDR Special Needs Scouting Division will hold its annual golf classic at the Hamlet Wind Watch Golf and County in Hauppauge. This year the Division will be honoring Steve Fuoco. Event begins at 7:30am. Please put this date in your calendar.
