The meeting was started by President Steve with the Pledge, song and a prayer. The following members were present: Tom, Jim, Ed, Dr. Sighn, Werner, Susan, Bill, Peter, Newt, Julie, Muriel, Barbara, Deborah, Bob Dovale, Janice, Peggy, Ralph, Joe, Helmut, Cheryl, President Steve and Secretary Joanne. The following guests were present: Jared Choi Student of the Month and his parents Albert Choi and Mei Choi and Susan Tew (Jim Murphy).

 

Bob Dovale spoke about our up coming event The Spaghetti Dinner.   Set up time 2:30 PM.  He sent 10 tickets to each Rotary Club.  He also has an add running in the Waterways and the Penny Saver.  The Early Bird is between 4 & 5 PM and is $8.00 per ticket. Pay for childrens tickets at the door.  Don't use the tickets you were given, they are the adult tickets. He asked Werner to supply the bread again this year and Werner will take care of it.  The Interact Clubs will do a bake sale and they are going to use the money to send a deserving Child to Camp Paquatuck.

 

Eastport -South-Manor is running a dance and the proceeds will go to Camp Paquatuck.

 

Bob Dovale also told us that we will be taking an exchange Student again this year and her name is Pauline.  She is 18 years old and comes from Belgium. 

 

President Steve presented to Jared Choi from Center Moriches High School a plaque naming him a Student of the Month.  He is a High School Sophomore and he volunteered at the Duck Barbeque for the last 2 years.

His proud parents Albert and Mei Choi were present to see him accept his award.

 

Muriel spoke about the wonderful speaker she went to hear last week on Polio Plus.  The women has gone to deliver the vaccine 24 times and had polio herself as a child and was even in an Iron Lung.  She could not contain herself about how wonderful this women is and that the experience of meeting her was so special. 

 

The 3 of Spades was picked for the 50/50 so the game goes on.

 

We had the Sergeants Report and the Foundation raffle.

 

The Stuff-a-Bus was on Saturday and we will get a report on their success on Thursday as I was not able to help as I was working at a soup supper at church which was also very successful.

 

March 27th will be Merchant of the Month Dr. Steven Curtis.

Bowl-A-Rama May 31st Saturday night.
