BRING A FRIEND TO ROTARY
The Meeting began at 6:40 PM by President Steve with
the pledge, song and a prayer. The following
members were present: Bob Dovale, Peter, Jim Murphy,
Newt, Werner, Tom, Julie, Muriel, Barbara, Deborah,
Peggy, Ed, Cheryl and President Steve and Secretary
Joanne. The following guests were also present:
Myles Kronman, Gail Tuohey, The American Cancer
Society, Katherine Thullen Teacher & head of
Eastport-South Manor School Interact and Rachel
Bayliss -President of the Interact Club.
We had a guest speaker from the American Cancer
Society Gail Tuohey, she is the director of Special
Events for the Eastern Division, located at 75

Center Moriches Relay For Life will take place June
13th. Marie Maag is chairing this event in
Center Moriches. There will be a 40 X 40 enrollment
tent that needs volunteers It is set up to sign up
people for a test study group for people who have
not had cancer. The sign up time would take place
between 6 & 10 PM only.
Bob Dovale talked about our spaghetti dinner which
will take place April 15th at Center Moriches H.S.
We got a donation tonight of a basket of cheer from
Jim Murphy, Thank you Jim and Tom Chieffo gave
Joanne some useful baskets that she can fill. Bob
Dovale is asking our members to sell, sell those
ticket and bring the sold ones as soon as possible
to our meeting. Peggy is doing a wonderful job
getting placemat adds. She only has about 4 or 5
spots left on the placemats to be sold. The money
will go to our Scholarship Fund. Set up time for
the Dinner is 2:30 PM for Cooks and 3:30 PM for the
rest of the Rotarians.
Rachel Balis from Eastport South - Manor Interact
Club talked about a Spaghetti Dinner that they are
running to give Senior Senior Citizens a free Dinner
and a play at Eastport/South-Manor School. They
need some financial help to buy supplies and
decorations for this affair.
We reviewed the Club By-Laws and then voted. Bob
Dovale accepted the by-laws and Newt seconded it.
So we now have new by-laws.
We had the 50/50, foundation raffle, and Sergeants report.
Bill Dalton received a grant for Camp Paquatuck from the Yacht Club
Eastport Elementary school is having a
dance-A-Thon. Friday March 28th, 2008.
There is still time to register for the District Conference which is scheduled for April 10 to the 13th, 2008 at the beautiful Gideon-Putman Hotel & Resort located in Saratoda Spa State Park, just one 1/2 hour north of Albany. For a Registration form, just click on Conference Application under site links on the left side of the district web site's homepage (www.rotary7260.org). $1100.00 per couple, you will get 4 days & 3 nights of Rotary fun, excitement, inspiration, friendship, service and entertainment. Check it out.
This weeks meeting at Ladakin's, March 27th we will
have the Merchant of the Month Dr. Steven Curtis.
Please members we need a full house for the
presentation.

Spaghetti Dinner April 15th (early bird 4 to 5
$8.00-regular ticket $10.00 & Kids tickets at the
door)
Bowl-a-rama May 31
Duck -Barbecue Sept. 7th
plus little & big Duck races.($10.00 & $100.00)
Remember to bring your bottles of wine & liquor and
any toys to Joanne & Barbara so they can make up the
baskets. Thank you all for your help. And again
sell those Spaghetti Dinner tickets.
