The Meeting began at 6:39 PM by President Steve with the pledge, song and a Prayer by President Elec Muriel.  The following members were present: Barbara, Janice, Muriel, Bob Walker, Susan, Helmut, Peggy, Bob Dovale, Peter, Tom, Jim, Newt, Julie, Deborah, Cheryl, Bill, Kevin  President Steve, Secretary Joanne & Treasurer Rich. The following guests were also present: Maryann S., Miles K., Anne D. Patty C., Susan Tew, Marie H., Laura T.

 

Bob Dovale brought us up to date on news about the Spaghetti Dinner which will take place on April 15th. Newt was able to get the tickets donated by Kevin Spellman's law firm.  Peggy has been working very hard to get adds for the placemats.  It is $75.00 for a place mat add and $200.00 for a table sponsor or both would be $250.00.  The Place Mat money goes toward Scholarships and the table sponsor proceeds goes to Community Service.  We thanked Janice for getting us the use of the school.  The adult tickets will be $10.00 each.  We will also be selling chances for a basket of cheers and maybe a toy basket etc.  Also the early Bird dinner is 4 to 5 PM and $8.00.  We are paying the kitchen staff at the school to do the clean-up $200.00.  Ralph is supplying the meatballs, King Kullen might do spaghetti, Sal will do the Sauce. (We will need more then last year).  We might have the Interact Clubs from Center Moriches & Eastport South Mannor do a Bake Sale which will go to their Charity.

 

Please start bringing liquors and wine and give them to Joanne to make up into a basket.  Also any new toys etc.(I think Barbara will help with that).  I go back to work next Monday so I would appreciate getting these bottles early because I will be working on it in the evenings and also doing the Quill at night. So please think early, thanks.  I might do some other baskets too but I will have to decide what they will be.

 

Bowl-a-Rama will take place May 31 at Shirley Bowl and we want to do this with the help of Hampton Bays Rotary Club. as they wish to do a fun raiser with us.  This way we will also ba able to  fill all 40 lanes.

 

This Saturday March 15th will be Stuff -A-Bus at King Kullen in Center Moriches and the Food will be donated to St. John the Evangelist Food Pantry.  We will pass around a sign up sheet again this week so those who have not already signed up can do so, the times are 9-11, 11 to 1 & 1 to 3 PM, So pick your time.

 

One Hundred and Forty people were at the Autistic Swim last Sunday Susan Reported.  What a crowd.

 

The 50/50-Rich won & drew the 9 of Diamonds.  The game continues.

 

The Sergeants Report was handled by Helmut. We had the foundation raffle.

 

March 13th will be Students of the month for February and also Keith Romaine will be the Guest Speaker so please we need all members present.

 

March 27th will be Merchant of the month Dr. Steven Curtis.

 

The Spaghetti Dinner will be April 15th at Center Moriches School.

 

The Bow-a-Rama will be the Last Saturday in May the 31st.

 

The Duck Barbecue will take place Sept. 7th, 2008

 

At our meeting March 6 we gave a shower of gifts to welcome little Chris to America and to his home with his new  Mom & Dad Deborah & Brian.  Much happiness to all of you.  Much fun awaits you, enjoy.
