MORICHES ROTARY OF NY

We had an informal meeting at Paul's Restaurant in Speak. The purpose of the meeting was to try out the new restaurant in Werner and Christine's complex. The second purpose was to have a surprise shower for Bill Le Mair and his wife Maria, as they were preparing to go to China and pick up their new baby Girl, who they will name Angelina. This was an exciting evening for Christopher too as he will very soon have a baby sister.

At this meeting were 19 Rotary members from our club. Plus wives and husbands etc. The list goes like this: Garry, Janice & Bill, Christine and Werner, Joanne Walker, Secretary, Bob Walker President & wife Mary, Rich and wife Maryanne, Roy & wife Debbie, Peter's wife Laura, Bob Dovale & wife Anne, Betsy, Tom & Patty, Lou, Dr. Sighn, Muriel, Newt & wife Marie, Deborah & Husband Brian, Bill, Maria, & son Christopher, Susan, Cheryl, Ed and Friend De. Guests as follows Nick Vivo from Westhampton Rotary, Friends of Werner, Florence & Pat Wiles from Riverhead Rotary, our exchange student Melina, Jim Murphy who will be sworn in as a member of our club at the meeting after the spaghetti Dinner. His friend Susan Tew . Steve Tooker Prospective member from Eastport, (Superintendent at golf course.)

Bob Dovale spoke about the Spaghetti Dinner. Keep selling those tickets. He and Peter & Betsy & Newt worked very hard to make this a success so let us do our part and sell those tickets. Rich & Maryanne are providing the Soda & cups. Muriel will try to get the desert. Bob Dovale & wife Anne bought the Spaghetti. People from the Water Ways will be coming. We ran an ad in their bulletin. Our add in the Penny saver was paid for by us and the paper was nice enough split the cost with us.

Please bring in the checks for the placemat adds the night of the dinner.

Their will also be certificates of appreciation.

Everyone who is working on this committee should be there around 3 PM.

We will be making a presentation of a check to the Aunt & Grandmother of little Alex from Old Neck Rd. Center Moriches at the Spaghetti dinner. The parents of little Alex will probably not be there as they will be at the hospital with Alex.

The district conference will be at Gettysburg and Janice will be attending alone with some of the interact kids. She has to bring with her 10 children's books which will be used as the center pieces for the formal Governors dinner on Saturday night. After the conference the books will be sent to Nigeria. Where the children will be taught to read in English. Janice will also need to bring with her a basket of whatever we choose valued at $50.00. These baskets will be used as prizes for the silent auction. The proceeds of these baskets will be given to the Rotary Foundation.

I have made up baskets alone with Barbara for the raffle we will have at the spaghetti dinner. We will see you on Thursday at Center Moriches High School on the by-pass. Bring some Friends.
