Topics of Discussion:

·         Amanda Tooker was one of our speakers. She spoke about some of the missions she has done and her tip to Bolivia. Bolivia is having a big drought problem right now. Amanda was part of Interact club when she was a student at Eastport South Manor. She is looking for donations for her trip. It is $2,000 for her to go. We passed around the bucket and raised $268.

·         Jim Hintze, president and volunteer, from the Manorville Ambulance Company talked to us about CDPR and saving a life. Most ambulances will teach CPR to anyone who wants to learn.

·         Laura made partner at her firm. Congrats to Laura.

·         Bob’s installation will be on Thursday, June 25^th at the camp. $30 a person; headcount 2 weeks prior, check 1 week prior. Spouses and families are invited.

·         District Governor at the Irish Pub in East Polis on June 21^st.

·         The district assembly was great. A lot of work was done and most of the work was grounds.

New Business:

• The squaws are having their card party on Friday, May 1^st.

• We are doing stuff a bus on 5/2. We are thinking about changing the location to Waldbaum’s in Center Moriches to get new people to donate.
• Camp board meeting is May 4^th at the camp.
• Spaghetti dinner was successful. We are still collecting money for the tickets and placement. Great job Bob and Peter and to all who showed up to help.
• We did the sergeants report, Foundation, and the 50/50. Sergeants-$29 50/50-$51 (Jim won)  Foundation $12

Old Business: 

• Janice will be bringing in Dr. Donald James, Superintendent of the Center Moriches School District on April 30^th to speak to our club. Student of the month is also this evening.
• Membership meeting has been postponed. Not enough people to invite. New date TBD.
• On Monday, May 11, 2009 the FDR Special Needs Scouting Division will hold its annual golf classic at the Hamlet Wind Watch Golf and County in Hauppauge. This year the Division will be honoring Steve Fuoco. Event begins at 7:30am. Please put this date in your calendar.
• Beginning in the July, the monthly district newsletter will be delivered in bulk to the clubs. You will be able to pick up an issue when you attend a meeting. An email copy will also be sent to you.
• Tom has been writing an article that will be going into the south shore press every couple of weeks. If you have news that you want in, please send it to Tom.

·         If you have made up a meeting or attended another Rotary event, please let Deborah know so she can mark you as attending a meeting.

• Squaws card parties are June 5^th, November 6th, December 4^th   at the camp.  6:30pm to 10pm Auction at the camp, Saturday, June 6^th.

• Annual Duck Barbeque and Big Duck Race. Sept. 13th.
• Octoberfest September 25^th, 26^th and 27^th at the camp.
• Spooky Walk. (4 nights) October 16th, 17th, 23rd and 24th.
