The meeting was started at 6:45 PM with the Pledge and Prayer.  The Following members were present: Roy, Bill, Jim, Tom, Barbara, Muriel, Joe Maag, Peter, Bob Walker, Werner, Newt, Deborah, Treasurer Rich, Secretary Joanne and President Steve. The following guest were also present, Tara Murphy, Jim's Daughter, & Susan Tew,(Jim had all the Ladies with him) and Dr. Christopher Robert Beuhler, Proposed member.

 

The District Assembly will take place on Saturday, May 17th, 2008 at 8:30 AM.  The Fee is $25.00 per person.  The Time is 8:30 AM.  The Place is Camp Paquatuck.   Learn more about Rotary's push to eradicate Polio. Please all new Rotarians should attend.  A special break out session for Club Foundation Chairs and the New Club Polio Plus Chairs.  Also a unique discussion on membership and how to attract younger members will be a highlight of the day.

 

The Motorcycle Poker Run & Family and Friends BBQ Lunch to benefit the Children of Camp  Paquatuck will take place Sunday June 1st., 2008.  Registration Clubhouse of Suffolk, Inc. 939 Johnson Ave. Ronkonkoma with coffee & breakfast 9 to 10:30 AM.  BBQ Pig Roast Lunch $20.00 per bike & $25.00 per bike with passenger.  Family and Friends BBQ Pig Roast Lunch Camp Paquatuck -live Music, Duck race  1-5 PM . Tom Made a motion to give the Sergeants report to M. S.. After Tara Murphy spoke in detail on the subject and of her career working with them.   Second by Joe Maag.  Each member gave $20.00. So Tara did very well.  Thanks for coming Tara it was very informative.  She also passed out booklet to the membership.

 

Steve was reminded to print tickets for the Bowl-a-rama which takes place May 31. Saturday night at Shirley bowl.  Check in time will be 6:30 PM and the games begin shortly after.   There will be raffle prizes, food etc. Peter offered again this year to bring a sheet cake for desert.  Hampton Bays Rotary Club  will also be involved in this event. Patchogue Rotary and the Fuco Memorial Golf Tournament presented the Camp with the remainder of the check which totaled $32,000.  Really a great amount of money. Many Thanks for their generous donation. The golf tournament took place 3 days after our last duck Barbecue.

 

Tom announced clean up day at the Camp will take place both the 17 & 18 of May.  Every member of our Club should be there. 

 

Christopher Robert Beuhler was proposed for membership for the second time this week.  His business is Home Audiology Services, P. C.  located at 250 Montauk Highway , East Moriches, NY.
