Topics of Discussion:

  • Joe has resigned. We will miss him terribly.
  • There is an opening on the camp board now. Be a member of the club; meet second Monday of every month. Take care of the needs of the camp, etc. There are 15 board members and 9 are from our club. We need to fill that seat.
  • Bob spoke about next week. His focus is recruitment. He wants to add 15 members next year. He also wants us to go to Institute to learn as much as we can about Rotary. Bob would love to have Interact students who have graduated to come back and join our club. He is very open to our suggestions on how to make the club great.
  • We have a gift for Bill for all the amazing work he has done. Tom Chieffo will be presenting the gift to him.
  • We are still accepting donations for the Auction. Wendy said that everybody has something in their homes that they don’t use; the re-gift. Wendy can use these for baskets. Examples are gift certificates, picture frames, gifts, movie tickets, restaurant certificates, sport memberilia, wine/cheese/crackers in your home etc., would be helpful. Wendy is looking for good and services. New items only; nothing used. The cost to attend is $50 and that includes an open bar. Please come at 6pm.
  • Muriel and Janice presented scholarships last week at Center Moriches High School. She said the kids were amazing. The last Interact meeting is on June 15th.

·         As of 5/31/09, our district has only met 47.84% of its goal for giving to the Annual Programs Fund. This is the fund that supports programs such as Group Study Exchange. There will be a big push in June to support the concept of every Rotarian every year ($100) to help raise this percentage.

·         Last night Bob, Jim, Rob and Steve went to the Patchogue’s steak night. They saw Steve Fucco and he wants a headcount for the 9/17 golf outing. Please keep this date open and let Bob know if you are coming. Our meeting will be cancelled that evening.

·         Bob’s installation dinner, Thursday, June 25th at the camp. $25 a person; headcount 2 weeks prior, check 1 week prior. Spouses and families are invited.  PLEASE LET PETER KNOW IF YOU WILL BE COMING AND HOW MANY PEOPLE YOU ARE BRINGING. Email him at emorealtor@optonline.net

 New Business:

·         Peter, Rich, Bob & Steve will be a part of the budget committee for next year. They are meeting on Wed at Bob’s house.

·         Bob threw out that he would like to club to buy a projector. We have speakers that come to our club to speak and we don’t have one for these purposes. We also could use one to take on the road. Jim stepped up and said he would make the donation to buy the projector.

  • Sergeants-$102 50/50-$0. Foundation $18.

Old Business:

·         Bob’s installation dinner, Thursday, June 25th at the camp. $25 a person; headcount 2 weeks prior, check 1 week prior. Spouses and families are invited.  PLEASE LET PETER KNOW IF YOU WILL BE COMING AND HOW MANY PEOPLE YOU ARE BRINGING.

  • Dues are due on 6/15.
  • Beginning in the July, the monthly district newsletter will be delivered in bulk to the clubs. You will be able to pick up an issue when you attend a meeting. An email copy will also be sent to you.
  • Tom has been writing an article that will be going into the south shore press every couple of weeks. If you have news that you want in, please send it to Tom.

·         If you have made up a meeting or attended another Rotary event, please let Deborah know so she can mark you as attending a meeting.
