The Meeting was begun at 6:35 PM by President Steve with the  pledge, song and a prayer by Muriel.  The following members were present:  Jim, Werner, Roy, Julie, Barbara, Deborah, Muriel, Peter, Bob Walker, Robert Dovale, Janice, New member Christopher, Newt, Treasurer Rich, Secretary Joanne, President Steve & member being installed tonight Rob Rubio.  The following guests were also present:  Nancy & Bob Knotoff from Westhampton Rotary Club.  Our guest speaker Wendy Walsh from Westhampton Rotary Club.  Stacy Rubio (wife of incoming member) & children Gage Rubio, Reid Rubio, Anne Dovale (Bob's wife & daughter), Bill Graf (Janice's husband) & Gary Kron a makeup from Riverhead Rotary Club.

 

Bob Dovale reported on the Spaghetti Dinner results. Great job Bob Dovale and committee.

 

Talked about the Bowl-a-rama which took place Saturday, May 31, 2008 at 6:30 PM.  Bob Walker & wife Mary took in bowling money etc.   Barbara was in charge of the raffle table & had a couple of helpers Tom Chieffo & wife Patty.  All those who attended had a great time bowling, eating and we had a bet going on the last game - Bob Walker & Ed Wesche played a game against each other.  The winner was my son Bob Walker.  That was fun to watch.  Ed's mom, and daughters were there cheering him on while Tom Chieffo did the blow by blow announcing.  Next year guys you might have some competition from our new member Christopher bowling (204 & 181).  Thanks to Peter we had a very delicious sheet cake for desert.  Thank you Peter & Laura.  Thank you Barbara for the basket of Toys.  With the help of club members who provided the booze I made up a basket of liquor & wine. A couple of baskets of candy & cookies and a couple of baskets of gift certificates etc.  Jim Murphy provided another basket of liquor etc.  Thank you Jim.  It was a fun evening.   Bob Walker will tell us the final count next week.

 

Next week guest speaker will be our own President Elect Muriel Corcoran.  She will discuss where do you want the Club to go.

 

President Steve introduced our guest speaker Wendy Walsh from Westhampton Rotary Club.  She is an Auctioneer by profession and will be running the auction up at Camp Paquatuck on June 21st. The cost is $75.00 per person to attend   She is getting many high end things to auction by putting different things together and making interesting packages up.  Give her one item and she will put it together with other things and make a basket or package.  Like a week in Maine for ski season, Mets tickets with Parking, Pony for a day for a party.  Our Christopher donating a hearing aid.  Each member needs to bring or give an item.  Let Muriel know about these.  Any Questions call Muriel.

 

Don't forget June 25th , Wednesday night the District Governor will be installed up at Camp Paquatuck.  It will be considered our meeting night. No meeting Thursday,  June 26th.  We will also be installing our offices that night alone with Westhampton and Riverhead Rotary Clubs. The cost is $75.00 per person , includes dinner.  Part of the money will be donated to Camp Paquatuck.

 

The Foundation Raffle this week was Rotary dinner at Ladakin's and the prize was donated by Vinnie of Ladakins and was won by Anne & Bob Dovale's daughter (maybe she will give it to her Dad for Father's Day.)

 

The 50/50 raffle the card picked was the 10 of Spades.
