BRING A FRIEND TO ROTARY

The Moriches Rotary meeting was begun at 6:35 PM by President Steve with the pledge, song and prayer. Present at the meeting was 15 members as follows: Garry, Tom, Roy, Deborah, Susan, Betsy, Newt, Barbara, Jim, Cheryl, Julie, and President Steve, Secretary Joanne, Treasurer Rich, & President Elect Muriel.

Garry collected for dinner and had the list of what's for dinner.  It worked out much better this way and we finally, maybe got the restaurant and waitress on a schedule.  The meeting ended on time so if it continues it will be great.

I wrote my self a note, because I forgot to mention this last week.  We celebrated Milline's Birthday last week with the help of Barbara.  She brought a birthday cake and a card and everyone signed it and whoever wanted to put money in the card.  So she received a very nice birthday present to take home to Costa Rica.  Thanks Barbara you are very thoughtful and on top of things. Really good job.

Rich belongs also to the Kwainias Club and his club presented the Camp with a check to finish the Deck on the Trading Post. They previously paid for the other 1/2 of the deck.  By the way they also feed the campers this past Tuesday night. Very nice group of people doing wonderful community service.  We decided to take an add out in their Journal for the breakfast they are running in August.

This Thursday night we will be at Camp Paquatuck for our meeting and to feed the Campers and the councilors and ourselves. Hampton Bays Rotary Club will join us and are bringing deserts.  Barbara had already set into motion the arrival of an Ice Cream truck.  She & we decided not to cancel this as the Campers really enjoyed this last year. President Steve expects perfect attendance at this meeting and if you are not able to attend you will still be responsible for paying for the dinner you did not eat.  As many mouths make the expenses less for all.  Dinner is $20.00.  President Steve would like all members to be at the camp between 5 & 5:30 PM. There is no booze at this event as the Campers are present. Bring your own soda or non alcoholic beverage.

The 50/50 this week was won by Jim Murphy. The New game will start at Tavern on Main the following week.

Monday night that's tomorrow night most of us will be in Westhampton Beach at the Performing Arts Theater for an evening of fun.  Henry Haid will be performing with his band Glass Houses.  Tom reported there are still general admission tickets left.  You can buy them at the door for $50.00.

Please bring your check to the camp Thursday night to pay your dues.  I gave the notices out the first week in June.  We have to send the money in to the district etc. Please.

Anyone who is not receiving the Rotary District News letter or the Rotarian Magazine, please let Joanne know.

There is about 350 campers enjoying the camp this summer, Tom reported and the camp is running very well and looks really nice. SEPTA Special Education Teachers organization brought about 10 to 12 Special needs students to the camp this summer.

We had the Sergeants report and the foundation raffle.

See you Monday at Westhampton Beach Performing Arts and Thursday at the Camp.

That's all there is...................................................Joanne
