The cost is $40 and will take place from 6pm to 10pm in the Waterford Room. Address is 131 Carleton Avenue, East Islip. Please sign up online at http://www.rotary7260.org/ AND let Muriel know if you will be attending. · August 7th we will be discussing the duck barbeque. Please make every effort to attend. · Beginning on July 31st, we all need to wear our name badges. If you need a name badge, please let Deborah know. · All ideas for the club or expenditures must be run by the board. The board will meet and let you know its decision. This is so the board knows what we are planning to spend or commit to. · Our new exchange student is coming on August 14th. Her name is Pauline and is from Belgium. She is 18 years old. Starting at WHB high school. Staying with the Rubio’s first, Bob last, and a family to be determined/interviewed in between. Bob will be training Steve who will be taking over the program for the club and the district next year. · Please email Muriel in the next 5 days who will be coming to Family Day at the camp on August 3rd.
Old Business: · If you have made up a meeting or attended another Rotary event, please let Deborah know so she can mark you as attending a meeting. · On July 31st, when we do the 50/50, each person paying for dinner will get one ticket as part of their dinner price. The prize will only be awarded when the ace of spaces is pulled. · Foundation raffle dollars are important because we get these funds back 3 years from now. We can do many good things with this money, so please, everyone, participate. · We are looking into Club Runner to be more connected to the other clubs and the district. More details to follow. · International literacy day is in September. Date to be given. The dictionaries are in Suffolk County National Bank and we will donate them to Clayton Huey in Center Moriches. · The duck barbeque signs should go up at the end of July. Werner will be taking care of this. · Muriel has created a list of who is doing what for avenues of services and this list is coming soon. Muriel will be calling and emailing people as the weeks go by. · Muriel needs help for Family Day on August 3rd at the camp. Muriel will need members to handle different tasks. More details to follow. Will need by July 25th who is coming. This event is just for Moriches Rotarians and their families. We have designated $500 in the budget for this event. · Kevin will be chairing the Duck Barbeque again. Muriel has asked Kevin to put together a manual on what he does and Kevin will be going over the different jobs/tasks at the August 7th meeting. · The goal is to have every committee chair create a manual so anyone can run with any event. · We will divide up the holiday party this year. We will have one party for us at the camp on December 18th and one party for the kids at the camp on Sunday, December 14th. · Muriel suggested an Easter egg hunt in April for the children. It will be at the camp. More details to follow. · The auction will be held on Saturday, May 17th. It was a great fundraiser for the event and we look forward to doing this event again. · Muriel would like to have at least one Rotarian from our club visit the camp when the other clubs are there to serve the campers. We need to thank the other clubs for donating their time and money to feed the kids. · Muriel spoke about the duck tickets once again. She gave them out to the members who were present. Please sell as many as you can. · Muriel went over the Object Of Rotary and Bill read them during the meeting. · We will be doing Stuff a Bus on the first Saturday of each month running from October to May. Because the economy is in a downturn, the churches really need our help. · We did the sergeants report and the 50/50. Sergeants-$141. 50/50-$74.
