Topics of Discussion:

·         Bob thanked Muriel for the wonderful work she did last year. Thank you again Muriel.

·         Muriel said we got the president citations, work she pushed hard to get last year. Muriel made it into a plaque that we will hang at the camp.

·         Muriel also put a plaque together for the group exchange people who came and visited us this year. Also, will be hung at the camp.

·         Bob handed out the schedule for the clubs that are feeding the campers at this time. We still need more clubs to help. Please come down and visit the other clubs while they are feeding the kids at the camp. Deborah will send out a schedule in a separate email.

·         Our club will be feeding the kids on FRIDAY, July 17th. We have to get there at 4:30pm. The campers eat at 6pm. This Friday feeding will replace the Thursday meeting the night before. We will also feeding the kids for LUNCH on Thursday, August 6th. There will be no meeting on that evening. We need to get there by 11:30pm. The kids eat lunch at 12:30pm.

·         A few people at the club went to Patchogue’s steak night and Bob got a nice thank you note. He passed it around the tables.

·         Steve Fucco needs a schedule from us when we are coming on September 17th. We need the bulk of the people to volunteer for dinner. We would like to have a silent auction to raise add’l funds for the camp at this event. We will ask Steve what he thinks about this.

·         Bob proposed moving the tables and the pits for the duck barbeque closer to the water. A nicer view and more room. If it’s hot, there will be tents. A decision was not made this evening. He is open to comments.

·         The family picnic will be on Sunday, August 30th.

·         Bob handed out the budget for the year. Please bring your comments to next week’s meeting. If you need a copy, please contact Bob or Peter.

·         We are not doing stuff a bus until the middle of November. We need to talk to Jim about putting King Kullen and Waldbaum’s on our insurance. We need to get a certificate for them.

·         Bob went to Westhampton’s installation dinner. They gave out 8 Paul Harris Fellows. Stacey Rubio received one. Congrats to Stacey.

·         Dues are past due. Please bring them in ASAP.

New Business:

·         Tom spoke about a conversation he had with Janice’s husband about building a raft for the kids in wheelchairs. This way they can go into the water. We have to make sure it passes all regulations and safety requirements. Susan spoke about getting a floating island to take the pollution out of the water. She can get this done for us. No charge to the club. Susan will get more information.

·         Sergeants-$69 50/50-$0. Foundation $15.

Old Business:

  • Tom has been writing an article that will be going into the south shore press every couple of weeks. If you have news that you want in, please send it to Tom.
