Topics of Discussion:

·         Steve Fucco needs a schedule from us when we are coming on September 17th. We need the bulk of the people to volunteer for dinner. Please let Bob know ASAP when you will be helping.

·         Steve was here and spoke about the event and he said he need the most people from 3pm to 8pm, but that will be physical work such as clean up. If we have the Interact club help, then he needs us between 10am to 5pm. If you stay for dinner, all Rotarians pay $75 for dinner. Dinner begins at 5:30pm.

·         This is the 50th golf outing and the 40th time they have given money to the camp.

·         Steve needs golfers and sponsors. If we can get one to two foursomes from our club, Steve would be happy. Hole sponsors are $150.  $375 a person to play which includes golf, dinner, and raffle tickets.

New Business:

·         Garry made the meeting. It was wonderful to see him.

·         Camp Pa Qua Tuck, 11:30am lunch. We are serving the campers. Bob will be ordering the pizza and taking care of setting everything up. Date is Thursday, August 6th. No evening meeting next week.

·         Marie from the Westhampton club said the flea market is on August 8th and 9th on the Great Lawn on Main Street. There will be a dunk tank and Marion Stark will be in the tank on Sunday the 9th from 12pm to 12:30pm. They have 84 vendors so far.

·         Muriel got a call from someone who cannot eat the food from the food pantry because it has gluten in it. She needs some financial assistance for this person. Barbara suggested that we use the money we never used last year for the boy’s confirmation we set aside funds for. This amount is $55 and Garry gave $100 in cash. Thank you very much to Garry.

·         There is going to be a district fundraiser at a ducks game on Tuesday, September 1st $15 for the event-$9 for the tickets, $6 for polio plus. Muriel will be committing to our club buying 27 tickets. We need Bob’s ok to move to that meeting to Tuesday evening. The game begins at 7pm.

·         Julie is in our heart and prayers. Good well wishes to Dave and to you too Julie.

·         Sergeants-$74 ($55 went to Muriel). 50/50-$26. (Muriel won.) Foundation $8.

Old Business:

·         Budget has been handed out and it will be voted on during the board meeting on 8/20.

·         Bob has the program schedule if anyone needs one.

·         The family picnic will be on Sunday, August 30th. Rich and MaryAnn are the committee and the theme is a Luau.

·         Bob would like us to contribute $100 for the year for Rotary International. It is not mandatory and it would be a nice showing from the club.

·         Bob would like us to go on clubrunner and get acquainted with it. Janice will be putting the sgt of arms questions on there before each meeting.

·         Dues are past due. Please bring them in ASAP.

·         Bob proposed moving the tables and the pits for the duck barbeque closer to the water again. A nicer view and more room. If it’s hot, there will be tents. A decision was not made yet. He is still open to comments.

·         We are not doing stuff a bus until the middle of November. We need to talk to Jim about putting King Kullen and Waldbaum’s on our insurance. We need to get a certificate for them.

·         The Interact club is on Facebook. The link is at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=103830513903&ref=search

  • Tom has been writing an article that will be going into the south shore press every couple of weeks. If you have news that you want in, please send it to Tom.

·         If you have made up a meeting or attended another Rotary event, please let Deborah know so she can mark you as attending a meeting.
