New Business:

 

·         August 7^th we will be discussing the duck barbeque. Please make every effort to attend.

·         Kevin will be chairing the Duck Barbeque again. Muriel has asked Kevin to put together a manual on what he does and Kevin will be going over the different jobs/tasks at the August 7^th meeting. 

·         Barbara gave the duck tickets out to the members who were present. Please sell as many as you can.

·         We did the sergeants report, Foundation, and the 50/50. Sergeants-$80. 50/50-$70. (Steve won.)  Foundation-$12.

·         Tom asked that we please come down to say hello to the clubs who visit the camp and fed the campers. List of who is coming down when is below later in the quill.

·         Muriel honored Doris Sergeant for being a wonderful person in the community. It is on our bulletin board.

·         Muriel said that the new club charter event was wonderful. Through perseverance and hard work Islandia-Central Islip is a new Rotary Club. Muriel posted the program on the bulletin board.

·         Reminder: When we do the 50/50, each person paying for dinner will get one ticket as part of their dinner price. The prize will only be awarded when the old maid is selected. New price for dinner which covers the foundation dollar is $23.

·         Fred Notter from the Sayville Club came by to invite us to their August 21^st Sayville Beefsteak fundraising event at the Suffolk County Maritime Museum. Tickets are $50 a piece.

·         Rich went over the budget.  Rich will adjust some numbers and they present to the board for approval.

 

Old Business:  

 

·         Our new exchange student is coming on August 14^th. Her name is Pauline and is from Belgium. She is 18 years old. Starting at WHB high school. Staying with the Rubio’s first, Bob last, and a family to be determined/interviewed in between. Bob will be training Steve who will be taking over the program for the club and the district next year.

·         If you have made up a meeting or attended another Rotary event, please let Deborah know so she can mark you as attending a meeting.

 

Speaker & Topic:  Family Day At The Camp

 

·         Muriel needs help for Family Day on August 3^rd at the camp. Who is coming? Will need This event is just for Moriches Rotarians and their families. We have designated $500 in the budget for this event.

·         This event is from 12pm to 5pm.

·         Send Barbara what you will be bringing.

Muriel would like to have at least one Rotarian from our club visit the camp when the other clubs are there to serve the campers.  We need to thank the other clubs for donating their time and money to feed the kids.
