Topics of Discussion:

  • Gerry Sapanaro husband passed away. Our hearts and prayers go to her and her family.

  • The family picnic will be on Sunday, August 30th. Rich and MaryAnn are the committee and the theme is a Luau. They need side dishes and dessert.

  • Bob still needs your schedule for the Steve Fucco golf outing if you have not done so.

  • Steve needs golfers and sponsors. If we can get one to two foursomes from our club, Steve would be happy. Hole sponsors are $150.  $375 a person to play which includes golf, dinner, and raffle tickets.

  • Last week was lunch at the Camp Pa Qua Tuck. Pizza was served and the campers had a great time.

  • There are new signs at the camp and around town to kick off the fundraiser at the camp. The camp is looking to raise 1 million dollars to expand the dinning room; construction to begin a year from now.

New Business:

  • Tickets were given out for the duck barbeque, $10 tickets, $25 tickets and duck race tickets.

  • Sergeants-$53. 50/50-$59. (Janice won.) Foundation $13.

Old Business:

  • Julie is in our heart and prayers. Good well wishes to Dave and to you too Julie.

  • There is going to be a district fundraiser at a ducks game on Tuesday, September 1st $15 for the event-$9 for the tickets, $6 for polio plus. Muriel will be committing to our club buying 27 tickets. We need Bob’s ok to move to that meeting to Tuesday evening. The game begins at 7pm.

  • Budget has been handed out and it will be voted on during the board meeting on 8/20.

  • Bob has the program schedule if anyone needs one.

  • Bob would like us to contribute $100 for the year for Rotary International. It is not mandatory and it would be a nice showing from the club.

  • Bob would like us to go on clubrunner and get acquainted with it. Janice will be putting the sgt of arms questions on there before each meeting.

  • Bob proposed moving the tables and the pits for the duck barbeque closer to the water again. A nicer view and more room. If it’s hot, there will be tents. A decision was not made yet. He is still open to comments.

  • Dues are past due. Please bring them in ASAP if you have not done so.

  • We are not doing stuff a bus until the middle of November. We need to talk to Jim about putting King Kullen and Waldbaum’s on our insurance. We need to get a certificate for them.

  • The Interact club is on Facebook. The link is at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=103830513903&ref=search

  • Tom has been writing an article that will be going into the south shore press every couple of weeks. If you have news that you want in, please send it to Tom.

  • If you have made up a meeting or attended another Rotary event, please let Deborah know so she can mark you as attending a meeting.
