Topics of Discussion:

  • Bob passed around the sheet for the Fucco Golf Tournament. If you did not sign up yet, please let Bob know ASAP. Muriel needs donations for the silent auction.

  • Steve needs golfers and sponsors. If we can get one to two foursomes from our club, Steve would be happy. Hole sponsors are $150.  $375 a person to play which includes golf, dinner, and raffle tickets.

  • Steve Fucco is trying to get Joe Piscapo to come to the camp. Joe likes to do community type things and will be coming to the camp as soon as arrangements are made. As soon as Tom gets a date, he will let us know.

  • The family picnic will be on Sunday, August 30th. Rich and MaryAnn are the committee and the theme is a Luau. They need side dishes. You are welcome to bring alcohol.

·        There is going to be a district fundraiser at a ducks game on Tuesday, September 1st. Tickets are $15; $9 goes for the price of the tickets, and $6 goes towards polio plus. Muriel will be committing to our club buying 45 tickets. The game begins at 7pm.

·        Budget has been handed out and will be voted on during tonight’s board meeting.

·        Rich and Rob went over the Duck Barbeque logistics. $25 for the Duck dinners before the event, $30 at the door. If you sell 20 tickets and pay by the 10th, you will receive 5 small race tickets as a bonus. Work meeting at the camp is Thursday, September 10th.

  • Julie is in our heart and prayers. Good well wishes to Dave and to you too Julie.

  • Gary is out of surgery. He is in our prayers also.

New Business:

  • Rotary Leadership Institute is coming up on Saturday, October 3rd. Bob will email the club information about the day. If you have not gone, it is worthwhile. It’s $95 a person. The club will pay for half.

  • Bob and Peter have spoken to RCN about doing radio ads for us 2 weeks prior to Oktoberfest. Bob and Peter have had many vendors call.

  • Our exchange student from Brazil will be arriving on August 31st.

  • Sergeants-$72. 50/50-$59. (Ralph won.) Foundation $17.

Old Business:

  • Bob has the program schedule if anyone needs one.

  • Bob would like us to contribute $100 for the year for Rotary Foundation. It is not mandatory and it would be a nice showing from the club.

  • Bob would like us to go on clubrunner and get acquainted with it. Janice will be putting the sgt of arms questions on there before each meeting.

  • We are not doing stuff a bus until the middle of November. We need to talk to Jim about putting King Kullen and Waldbaum’s on our insurance. We need to get a certificate for them.

  • The Interact club is on Facebook. The link is at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=103830513903&ref=search

  • Tom has been writing an article that will be going into the south shore press every couple of weeks. If you have news that you want in, please send it to Tom.

  • If you have made up a meeting or attended another Rotary event, please let Deborah know so she can mark you as attending a meeting.
