Janice brought a guest for the evening Rebeccah Gomez from Center Moriches High School interact.  She is the Sergeant of Arms.  It was very nice meeting her and having her attend one of our meetings.  Thank you Janice.

Bob Dovale attended his first all district youth exchange meeting he was very impressed and enjoyed it very much. He would like to have two outgoing students next year. Which means we would have to take and house two incoming.  He said he could easily house two incoming.

He also talked about short term exchanges for 3 week periods in summer.

Ralph, Tom & Peter are now on the youth exchange committee.

Bill LeMaire talked about how very well the Swim program has worked out and all the positive effects it has been for participants.  Also the Swim & Sail program which takes place at the Sayville Yatch Club.  This Monday and the following Monday. it starts at 6 PM and goes to around 8PM.  Marie LaMaire has acquired 20 life vests.  For directions to the Yatch Club call Bill Le Maire.

Tom Chieffo talked about the Thursday, August 23rd. Barbecue at the camp,( that will be our meeting).  Mingle during the meeting with the campers and staff, it is quite informative.  We will be having Hamburgers, Hot dogs and chicken, Mac. & cheese,  Baked beans, salad etc.  Barbara again will provide the Ice Cream truck and treats.   Peter decided to get Dunkin Donuts instead of a sheet cake.  Sounds wonderful to me. All members expected to attend.

This week no formal meeting but instead everyone is expected to turn out for two nights at the Carnival.  The Carnival takes place Thursday, Friday Saturday and Sunday.  That 's August 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th.  Everyone who was at last weeks meeting and this weeks meeting signed up for at least two times each. Weather permitting the Fireworks will take place on Saturday night.

Duck Barbecue ticket sales very important to get out there and sell.  Most of us all have been given tickets to sell.  If you have not received your tickets See Barbara Caldwell for small race tickets & barbecue tickets.  Newt has big duck race tickets.  A Good way to sell tickets is go to other club meetings and sell tickets there.

Deborah won the right to choose a card for the 50/50 game.  She picked the 5 of hearts. We also had the Sergeants report.

President Steve said Dec. 27th 2007 is the 70th Anniversary of Moriches Rotary.  Pretty impressive.

Muriel will be setting up and organizing programs for the meetings.   If you know of any interesting programs please advise Muriel.

See you all Thursday night at the Carnival 5-9 PM.

That's all there is...................................................Joanne
