MORICHES ROTARY OF NY

The meeting was begun at 6:40 PM by President Steve with the pledge, song and a prayer by Joanne Walker. Present at the meeting was the following members: Jim, Tom, Garry, Roy, Ed, Julie, Barbara, Werner, Kevin, Newt, Janice, Deborah, Dr. Sighn, Cheryl, Denise, President Steve, Secretary Joanne, Treasurer Rich and President Elect Muriel. The following guests Bill Dalton from Westhampton Club & our Camp, Steven's son Miles and our new exchange student Cote. Elena Nuttenlocher from the Port Jefferson Club. (She worked at the Duck Barbecue too.)

Westampton Rotary Club won the small Duck Race and received a check in the amount of $3,667.00. Bill Dalton came to our meeting representing Westhampton Club and presented us with a super large check in the full amount of their winnings donating it back to the camp. What a wonderful thing for them to do as they had spent $5000. on all the small yellow ducks in the race. Thank you, thank you Westhampton Club.

A Big thank you goes to Tom Jurgielewicz for again supplying us with all the ducks for the dinner.

Another big thank you goes to Kevin & Newt for chairing this event - Thanks for all the hours of time you both spent to make this event so successful and run so smoothly.

Thanks also to all the members of our club who participated and gave of their time and energy.

Julie will attend the Membership seminar on Wednesday Sept. 26th.

Cheryl will be Foundation Chair for our club and will be attending the meeting on Sept. 29th.

Our Rotary Exchange student likes to be called Cote. She is from Chile. She is staying in Manorville with Terry Kronman and can be reached at 874-0803.

Kevin was talked into chairing the Barbecue again next year.

Nov. 3rd. is UN Day. Those intending to attend must register.

Mistake in last weeks Quill. It was the Rocky Point Club that cooked the Hamburgers and hot dogs at the Duck Barbecue not the Northport Club. Sorry about that.

Deborah will be missing from the club for the next two weeks as she and Husband Brian will be flying to Bulgaria where they bought a house a year or so ago.

Next weeks meeting will take place at our new Location Ladikins on Montauk Hway in Moriches. See you there Thursday night.

Still a few people need to pay their dues ......................$200.00. Please bring it to the meeting this week.
