BRING A FRIEND TO ROTARY

Thursday night we were at the camp to prepare for the Duck Barbecue. Present at this informal meeting was Dr. Sigh and his guest P.P. Chandra Sheekhar Sinha from Patna, India an Architect and a Rotary member from Rotary District 3250.  I presented him with a Moriches Rotary banner to take back to his club. Also present was Bob Walker, Joe Maag, Rich, Betsy, Deborah, Jim, Ralph, Kevin, Susan, Barbara, Muriel, Tom, President Steve, Cheryl, Ed. Keith, Roy, Peter, Secretary Joanne, and Newt.  If I missed anyone, I apologize and please advise me so I can keep the attendance book in order.

Jim Murphy advised me that He and Tom Chieffo had a makeup by attending the Southold -Greenport Golf Tournament.  Thank you both for representing our club at this outing.

Sunday was the Duck barbecue.  Some of our members were there at 6:00 AM to receive the Ducks from Jeorgowitz Duck farm. They donate the ducks to us each year.  Our members did all the other early morning chores necessary to make this event a success.  Newt was very pleased with how many members were there early morning.  It made things go much more smoothly.

Present on Sunday was the following members: Kevin Chairman of this event, Steve, Muriel, Keith, Jim, Bill, Joanne, Rich, Deborah, Barbara, Dr. Sighn, Peter, Ralph, Cheryl, Bob Walker, Bob Dovale, Ed, Joe, Newt Duck Race Chair person, Janice, Susan, Tom, Roy.  Passed members Dennis Latierzo Block and Andrea Milano.  Everyone did what was asked of them to make the day a big success.

The interact members were there doing chores directed by Bob Dovale and Janice.  They were a very big help to all who called on them for help.  The Boys scouts came to help clean up and fold up the chairs etc. The weather was just about perfect ending Steve's jinx.

Thanks Rich for the wonderful job you did handling the money for the event.  Newt, Muriel and Barbara and Denise for the Duck race events.

Joanne was at the Raffle table all day and also assisted the Duck race people.   The Raffle prizes gathered by Barbara was an American Girl Doll worth around $100. or so was won by the Pfister Family. The Hockey game was also won by the Pfister Family.  I had called the winners and they returned to pick up there prizes and you never saw such a happy family as they had a daughter and a son.  So all went home happy and excited.  Farmer John gave me a beautiful basket of mums to add to the raffle and it was won by a girl name Yvonne. I was in charge of Dr. Sighns medical bag.  So he was prepared in case there was an emergency.  So it was nice having a doctor on call.  The bag was with me all day which meant all was well.  Thank you Doctor.  Dr. Sighns family also made Indian food and sold it very reasonably.  It was like old times having his family prepare the food of their country again.  It was very delicious.

Thank you Cheryl for keeping the kitchen in great shape and for distributing watermelon to the line and also to us workers who couldn't leave our posts.

Thanks also to the people who wrapped the ducks etc.  Also thanks to Northport Rotary for cooking the Hamburgers and Hot dogs, etc., all day.

Thanks to all the members that spent the day in the pit flipping Ducks.  Heard they turned out very delicious. Thanks to all Moriches Rotarians for all there hard work.  It really paid off.  Rich will let us know the results of all our efforts.

See you at Tavern on Main this Thursday night.

Thanks all there is...........................................................................Joanne
